Richard R. Faucher, Genealogist

Hi, I’m Richard — a genealogist dedicated to preserving family history since 2009.
What started as a simple curiosity about my roots became something much deeper: a personal mission to preserve the stories, faces, and legacy of those who came before us — especially within the Faucher family line and our French-Canadian heritage.
Raised in a proud French-speaking household, I was surrounded by strong traditions, storytelling, and a deep respect for the past. Over the years, I’ve uncovered thousands of names, documented records, photographed gravestones, and built one of the most carefully sourced Faucher trees available online.
But this work isn’t just about names and dates.
It’s about rediscovery.
It’s about honoring the ordinary people who lived extraordinary lives — often without recognition.
It’s about creating something lasting for future generations.
I believe genealogy should be ethical, respectful, and inclusive. I follow a personal code:
- I do not publish personal info on living individuals
- I honor grieving periods before publishing recent losses
- I report what’s factual — not just what’s convenient
- I do not exploit family “secrets” for shock value
- I believe family history should bring people together, not tear them apart
If you’re connected to the Faucher line — or simply believe in preserving the past — welcome. I’m honored you’re here.
