I started working on my family tree in 2009. I started with the use of Ancestry.com My Mom was a great record keeper, she kept a journal of Births, Marriages and Death dates of my Great Grand Parents down to the current births on both sides of our family. Mom passed in 1998 and it wasn’t until 2009 before I took on the responsibility of being our family historian. So with 11 years gone by I had a lot of catching up to do.
In the beginning of my research I struggled a lot because all of the records I was searching for were in French and I don’t speak, write or read French. So I had to physically translate everything myself. On occasion my sister Jeanne was able to help translate for me. Of course the more I worked on it the easier it was to recognize words and phrases.
There is always work to be done. Families are always growing and sometimes you find errors that need correcting. Having done my DNA has been very helpful and have been able to add hundreds off new people to my tree and I still have hundreds more to add.

So far I have been able to trace the Faucher’s back to my tenth Great-grandfather in France 1555. And I have traced my maternal (Tardif) side back to my tenth great-grandfather also in France 1560.
MY name is Richard R Faucher. My parents are Jean Noel Faucher & Lina Yevette Tardif Faucher. I was born and raised in Rhode island and as of May 2020 I’ve been living in Florida.
